Emily Ching
Registered Speech Language Pathologist
Emily received her Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is a registered member of the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).
Emily has experience providing assessment and intervention for children with a range of speech, language, and communication needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), speech sound disorders and AAC. Her clinical interests include play-based therapy, parent mediated intervention, bilingualism, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and literacy.
Emily is a certified PROMPT provider (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) which is an approach for motor speech disorder such as Childhood Apraxia of Speech. She is also certified in TalkTools Oral Placement Therapy (Level 1) and LSVT LOUD.
Emily is committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming care. Her therapy sessions are attuned to each child’s readiness to learn and grounded in close collaboration with caregivers. Emily provides service to families in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
In her free time, Emily enjoys yoga, hiking, reading, painting and spending time with her cats.
