Rebecca O’Neill
Registered Speech Language Pathologist
Rebecca is a speech-language pathologist who completed a Master of Speech Pathology at Griffith University in Australia. After graduating, she stayed and worked for a year as a Speech Pathologist in private practice before transitioning back to Canada. Rebecca grew up in Greater Vancouver and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Psychology at Simon Fraser University. She brings additional experience as a speech-language assistant supporting neurodivergent children and as an early childhood educator assistant in a preschool classroom for children with hearing differences.
In addition to being part of the Speech Meta team, Rebecca works in a nonprofit specializing in early intervention for deaf and hard-of-hearing children and their families. She has completed multiple American Sign Language (ASL) courses at Vancouver Community College and strives to maintain conversational proficiency.
Rebecca is registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals and with Speech-language and Audiology Canada. She is certified in providing the Lidcombe Program for fluency and stuttering, and in Hanen's "More Than Words" social communication program. She also brings clinical experience and expertise in Speech Sound Disorders. In all sessions, Rebecca's goal is to ensure sessions are play-based while building connections to meet the client's and family's needs.
While not working alongside families, Rebecca is likely to be found watercolour painting, exploring cafes, hiking or catching up with friends.
