Sharon Chan

Speech Assistant

Sharon is a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant at Speech Meta and has been with the team since 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University and is a certified TouchChat Trainer and LAMP Certified Professional. Her professional work is deeply informed by both her clinical experience and her personal journey as a mother of three neurodivergent children.

She has a strong passion for augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and supporting individuals with complex communication needs. Sharon especially enjoys helping families and support teams feel more confident using AAC in everyday life. She also creates switch-adapted toys to promote access, participation, and communication.

Outside of work, Sharon enjoys hiking, spending time with her family, and caring for stray cats. She is also dedicated to giving back to the community and is growing her involvement with the Family Support Institute to support families on similar journeys.
